LIFE IS CHALLENGEI've been chasing my dreams throughout my life.
Since the day I was fascinated by rock music and the magic of guitar,
I've been always motivated by a belief "someday, I'll make my dreams come true".
With its determination, I could get over with many situations I've faced in quest for the dreams.
At the age of 50, I'm again motivated by the dream and just can't let it go.
It is the dream to get into "the world".
In summer 2012, I am going to relocate to the United Kingdom.
"Dreamin' " was one of the songs I've performed at my 30th anniversary tour.
It was originally written when I was in my early 20s', to encourage the emotion,
"to be one's self, keep chasing the dream with pride".
Every time I refrained with the audience,
"OH yeh I'm only Dreamin' I'm only Dreamin' for me",
I was asking myself "have I been chasing the dream lately?".
Also when I shouted at the end of the chorus,
"I'm only Dreamin' for you!",
I have realized that I'm standing in front of the audience to appeal
"dreaming with pride is so precious".
It has been kept in my heart as a promise.
When I was a kid, my father who've already passed away used to show me a globe
in his study and said "Tomoyasu, the world is much bigger than you think".
Now being a father, I want to tell my daughter the same thing,
"the world is much bigger than you could ever imagine".
It was said great men sailed away the seven seas to chase
their dreams in ancient times.
I know I'm not a great man, but at least I want to be a dreamer.
I believe last three decades was to build a runway for me to take off now.
Upcoming "GUITAR × SYMPHONY" concert at Budokan in June will definitely be
an unforgettable show in my life, and I'm so honored to be able to share
the greatest memory with many of you in prior to my departure.
I will leave Japan after this concert, but I promise to keep in touch with
my dearest fans in every possible way.
On December 18th, the show at "Roundhouse" in London has also been scheduled.
I am going to enjoy the show at the birth of rock music as a new artist
with hidden confidence.
I look forward to meeting with many Londoners at the venue.
I just can't say enough how I feel, but I will express it through my music in the future.
LIFE IS CHALLENGE
I'd appreciate if you could watch over my departure at the age of 50,
and thank you for all my staff, the parties concerned and
my beloved family who accept my will.
To all my fans, I really thank you for your support and we'll keep in touch!
All the best,
Tomoyasu Hotei
